Any camper found with a cell phone will forfeit their privilege to participate in Fanari Camp, which will result in their dismissal, at the discretion of Fanari Camp and the Director.
Camp Director: Deacon Chris Avramopoulos
Our staff includes carefully selected young adults, trained to work as camp counselors, along with clergy, seminarians and certified medical staff that receive a thorough background check.
THE FANARI EXPERIENCE
Every summer, hundreds of children from throughout the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago gather for our Fanari summer camp program. Their Orthodox Christian faith comes alive, as they develop friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. Countless young adults have donated their time and talents to serve as staff, counselors and mentors to our campers since the beginning of this ministry. Our Core staff is always planning for the future, to guarantee that this “jewel” of our Metropolis is around to provide the same experiences to current and future youth that is did for their parents and grandparents. Among the activities at Fanari Camp are sing-a-longs, campfires, Orthodox life discussion, Bible Study, Greek Culture, dancing, swimming, nature hikes, athletics, Olympic games, skit night and daily worship services.
